Photographer: Kristin Åmark 5 Oct 2017 The 2017 Nordic Freestyle and Heelwork to music Championships were held in Denmark on the 29th of September and the 1st of October. Here are the results from the individual and team competitions. Nordic Agility Championships 2017 14 Aug 2017 The Nordic Agility Championships were held on 12-13th of August in Stockholm. For two days, the best dogs and handlers from the Nordic countries competed for a place on the podium. In the end, the Swedish, Finnish and Danish teams each walked away with a gold medal from one of the three height classes, small, medium and large. In the individual competition, Sweden managed to win the gold, silver and bronze medal in the small height class. The Nordic Agility Championships The Nordic Kennel Union has established common rules for the Nordic Agility Championships which have been revised several times since the competition began in 1994. Health problems in short nosed breeds 12 May 2017 Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, BOAS, is a syndrome which can cause health problems in brachycephalic, or short nosed, dog breeds. A Nordic working group recently released a report with a list of proposed actions againt BOAS. The Working group was appointed by the Nordic kennel clubs to propose statements and actions to be taken to improve health and welfare for dogs affected by BOAS. It aims to review the current situation, suggest steps to rectify the effects of BOAS and propose ways forward. You can find the full report via the link below.
