Recognise new dog breeds

NKU decided in 2018 on new rules for recognition of breeds that are not recognised by the FCI. Breeds can be recognised by any of the NKU-countries and the other countries should be informed at NKU/AU meetings.

1-2016, item 12	The NKU decides to aim at a common approach regarding regulations for brachycephalic dog breeds.
2-2013, item 14	The NKU finds out that the Nordic countries have different principles regarding if multi-coloured dogs should be banned from breeding or not.
1-2014, item 13	The NKU decides to recognise eye certificates and give information of clear eye certificates from the NKU-countries. The result is reported as “undersökt i ’aktuellt land’ med friande resultat/ examined in ’country’ with clear result”.

1-2005, item 9	The NKU writes to the FCI asking for a revision of the list which states when large breeds should be x-rayed, 12 or 18 months.
2-2004, item 9	The NKU starts a quality assurance work by sending a certain amount of x-rays to each other for evaluation every quarter.
2-2002, item 11	The NKU decided that a dog with x-ray results (hips, elbows) from the Nordic x-ray panel cannot be appealed.
2-1999, item 32	The NKU decided that the right to appeal to the Nordic x-ray panel can be made both by a radiologist and a dog owner.
2-1999, item 32	The NKU decided unanimously to apply the FCI rule, saying that the age for reading should be 12 months with an exception for 11 named breeds where an 18 month rule applies.
