Epilepsi hos labrador retriever

We have recently completed a genome wide association study in ~600 Labrador Retrievers (LRs) and mapped two loci for epilepsy.

We propose i) to recruit new epileptic LRs, ii) to independently replicate the two identified loci genomic regions, and iii) to identify candidate causal variants with existing sequencing data. If successful, the 1-year study will validate new epilepsy loci to improve diagnostics, understanding and care of the epilepsy in LRs and possibly other breeds.
