Travel to Stockholm

Stockholm, Sweden’s vibrant capital, is easily accessible no matter where you’re traveling from. With a well-developed transportation network, you can quickly and conveniently reach the heart of the city—whether you’re arriving by train, car, plane, or boat.

Train – Comfortable and Sustainable

SJ and other train operators offer fast and comfortable connections to Stockholm from across the country. From cities like Gothenburg or Malmö, you can reach the capital in just a few hours. Dogs are welcome on board, often in designated pet-friendly carriages, but you need to book a spot for your dog in advance. Stockholm Central Station is located in the heart of the city, making it easy to continue your journey via public transport.

Air Travel – Fast and Efficient

Stockholm is easily accessible by air, with several airports serving the city. Arlanda Airport is the largest and main international hub, offering frequent flights from both domestic and global destinations. From Arlanda, you can reach the city center quickly via the Arlanda Express train, commuter trains, or airport buses. For domestic travel, Bromma Airport provides a convenient alternative, located just a short distance from downtown

Car and Bus – Flexible and Convenient

For those who prefer to drive, Stockholm is well connected by the E4, E18, and E20 highways, making it easy to reach by car. There are numerous parking facilities and convenient park-and-ride options for those who wish to switch to public transport. Long-distance bus companies like FlixBus and Vy Bus4You offer comfortable journeys to Stockholm from various parts of the country. If you're traveling via Denmark, the Öresund Bridge provides a smooth route for both car and train travel to Stockholm.

Travel by Ferry – A Unique Experience

Stockholm is surrounded by water, and arriving by ferry is a beautiful and relaxing way to start your trip. You can travel from destinations such as Åland, Finland, or the Baltics, and some cruises make convenient stops in the city’s harbors.

We’re happy to share some positive updates from a couple of ferry companies:
