Sweden is a welcoming and well-organised country for dog shows and competitions. Whether you are a first-time exhibitor or an experienced competitor from abroad, taking part in events organised under the Swedish kennel club, SKK, is straightforward once you know the requirements.

What is required to sign up at dog show or competition?

Registering your dog in the SKK database

Before you can enter a dog show or competition in Sweden, your dog must be registered in SKK Hunddata, the Swedish Kennel Club’s official dog database.

  • Dogs already registered with SKK are automatically included.
  • Dogs owned abroad must be added by the owner before entry. Here you can check if your dog already is registered in SKK Hunddata. If not, please add your dog here:

Once the dog is registered in SKK Hunddata, you can enter the dog for shows or competions in Sweden.

Identification, vaccinations and health requirements

To participate in events in Sweden, your dog must:

  • Be ID-marked (microchip or tattoo)
  • Have valid vaccinations in accordance with Swedish and SKK regulations
  • Be healthy and fit to compete or be shown

These rules are in place to protect animal welfare and ensure fair and safe events for all participants.
