Who will be Europe's top Junior handler 2026?

In September, the spotlight will shine on the next generation of dog sport stars as Europe's top junior handlers gather at the European Dog Show 2026 in Stockholm. Three exciting days of skill, sportsmanship, and passion for dogs await, all leading to one common goal: winning the prestigious title of Europe's Top Junior Handler.

Junior Handling is all about the art of presenting a dog. But it is also about teamwork, knowledge, and the ability to bring out the very best in your four-legged partner in the ring. For many young people, the competition is an important stepping stone into the dog world, where tomorrow's breeders, judges, and leaders are already demonstrating their dedication and enthusiasm.

Strong competition from across Europe

Interest in this year's competition has been high. A total of 188 entries have been registered for the qualifying competitions, with participants from 16 different countries.

The largest number of entries comes from:

  • Finland: 43
  • Sweden: 33
  • Iceland: 26
  • Norway: 21

In addition, competitors will be taking part from Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Israel, Serbia, Germany, Belgium, and the Czech Republic.

The grand final will take place on Sunday, 6 September. The best handler-and-dog teams from the qualifying competitions will compete alongside young handlers who have already qualified through their national kennel clubs.

Representatives from at least 20 European kennel clubs will be competing in the final:

Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Croatia, Latvia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Spain, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Hungary.

Sweden's representative has already been selected. Stella Näslin, who won the national youth championship title at the Swedish Junior Championship (Ungdoms-SM) 2025, will proudly represent the host nation on home soil.

The future of Europe in the ring

Junior Handling is much more than a competition. It is a meeting place for young dog enthusiasts from across Europe and an opportunity to build friendships and connections beyond national borders. Here, friendships are formed, experiences are shared, and the future leaders of the dog world take their first steps toward long and successful careers in dog sports.

For visitors to the European Dog Show, Junior Handling is one of the most inspiring highlights of the event. Watching young handlers demonstrate their skill, focus, and love for dogs is an experience that captivates both seasoned dog enthusiasts and first-time visitors alike.

On 6 September, we will find out who earns the right to lift the trophy and claim the title:
